TAKEN! OOC PLOTTING    

This is a plotting post to get to know your groups and plot with other players! The info post for March's kidnapping plot may be found HERE. Although threads while in captivity and during the rescues are limited to characters within their own groups, there will be opportunities to thread with other characters, as well!

As far as abductions go, extremists will approach characters in a number of ways: asking for their help, surprise ambushes, etc. For the most part, these attempts will not be out in the open, but it's flexible otherwise. Characters can come up with their own scenarios and plan outside of their groups for kidnapping threads! In the end, they will be knocked out and taken away, with more details to come later. Hostage characters will be tricked or forced to wear a magical object that completely nerfs their powers, and this object cannot be removed.

All characters, including those who did not sign up for a plot role, may still participate in other ways. They may, for example, be witnesses to and fail to prevent another's kidnapping, spread the word around town about the incidents, and provide medical and emotional support to both hostages and rescuers. Everyone will need a bit of cheering up!

We have provided headers for each group for your convenience, but these are not exclusive to only members of that group. You may also make your own toplevel if you prefer.

HI FRIENDS I'VE BEEN BUZZING ABOUT THIS SINCE I LEFT WORK

i am still buzzing in fact

so mika here is going to be a terrible hostage with anger disproportionate to his handsome stature of 5'2". he's a child soldier and stupidly strong and though he'd really like his mecha right about now he doesn't need it to want to kick someone's ribcage in. he's a pro compartmentalizer and pretty used to situations like this so he'll probably just be really annoyed and surly and trying to appear as less of a threat than he's willing to be — he's also not terribly... altruistic... HOWEVER if he notices someone getting too roughed up he'll probably start being cheeky/threatening to try taking some of the heat off his fellow hostages for a bit because he's built tough and can withstand a lot mentally/physically. ideally i'd like him to have a little snap and really ruin one of the kidnappers' days before the rescuers arrive... if fellow hostages aren't chill with straight MURDEROUS INTENT please feel free to try and chill him out! i actually love playing him with more honorable types.

he might also try to kill them once the rescuers show up. (i'm so sorry he's like this) really he's just having a not great day because he's always the rescuer and never the hostage. so he'll be grumpy.

Mika is a small and young man. He's a warrior, but also bitty. Reinhardt understands that young people can be tough and fighters...but he's also a kid (at least to this old man). It's complicated. So Reinhardt is likely going to end up acting a bit protective of him if that's all right with you. He would do his most to be that upright honorable sort that just wants this young man not to suffer or to kill anyone.

Yusei's not too impressed with himself for being kidnapped twice within two months by the same exact group, to be honest. Depending on how he was kidnapped he might also be feeling a little guilty - he would either have been tricked by being caught off guard while doing a fixit job for a shaman or taken forcefully because they came for Sanzo, found Yusei at home instead and took him before their cover was blown. Either way he's going to be a combination of angry and slightly despondent.

Not that it's going to stop him from trying to be productive because he knows how to pick locks and wriggle out of being hogtied and stuff and also hella martyristic, so prepare for covert escape attempts and attempts to stand up for/drawing the heat off of fellow prisoners.

Anyway X’rhun Tia is a hostage, and with the exception of Reinhardt, he is older than all you young whippersnappers in the hostage group. You better believe that he will aggressively dad at everyone and actively put himself in harm’s way if it means making sure that his fellow hostages are safe/spared.

Yes, even those who are going to try and make targets of themselves to take the heat off others. He will physically put himself between them and their captors if he has to.

His healing, along with the rest of his magic, will be nerfed which will be kind of annoying, but he’s an old soldier and knows a decent amount of first aid. He will also help tend injuries as much as he can, so long as he’s not out of commission himself from all his self-sacrificing sob.

Reinhardt is going is a hostage. He's still stupidly noble and if anyone wishes it, he would totally take someone else's torture for them. He's also the sort who will try to keep everyone's hopes up because that's just the way he rolls. He might or might not be using his free-be resurrection doing something stupidly heroic. HELLO. Grantaire is a rescuer and this is, essentially, his first chance to prove himself that he absolutely has to follow through with. He’s not really a man who’s full of motivation or faith but he cares about people and he won’t leave the hostages to suffer. He’ll have his “this is useless” moments but he’ll do his best. YOU'RE IN....OKAY HANDS.
