CHARACTER INFO

• Character Name: Danny Rand.
• Character Age: 26.
• Character Canon: Marvel's Iron Fist.
• Canon Point: Season 2, Episode 7.

• Character History: Here.

• Character Personality: Provide information about their personality, both negative and positive aspects — with three of each. Give examples of how they've behaved this way. You do not need to provide an essay, but please submit enough to give a feel for the character.

— Friendly: If there's one thing to be said about Danny Rand, it's that he approaches everyone with a smile and kindness. He sees every stranger as a potential friend, treating each person with the same attitude. One of the first things shown in the series is Danny befriending a homeless man in the park, the two of them quickly bonding. Even when a person might show themselves to be a bad person, or someone with questionable morals, Danny often tries to see past it to see the good in them. This is the case with his two oldest friends, Joy and Ward, who act as antagonists to Danny throughout the show. In a world where people are often cold and wary, Danny's warmth and excitement to meet people is hard to miss.
— Loyal: Once someone is in Danny's circle, he's always going to look out for them and act with their best interests in mind. There's never a moment where Danny chooses himself over what his friends need, or what people he's promised to help need. He's shirked important meetings to save people from danger, for example, and when Matt Murdock asked Danny to look out for New York City, Danny took that task to heart. When asked to do favours by people he likes or looks up to, that becomes Danny's top priority. He doesn't take promises lightly, becoming upset or frustrated if others take them for granted.
— Resolute: When Danny puts his mind to something, he's determined to see it through. Having spent his formative years being trained at a monastery, he learned how to set his mind to a task. He had to overcome being and outsider and prove himself, and put in the work to achieve his goal. It was this determination that helped get him back to New York City when he had no money to his name, along with what helped him get back part of the company his parents started. When there was the possibility that a Rand Enterprises plant was giving locals cancer, Danny saw that it was promptly shut down by ensuring it was printed in the news before the rest of the people in the company could argue against it. For Danny, where there's a will there's a way, and he lives by that every day.

— Emotional: It probably comes as no surprise that Danny wears his heart on his sleeve. For as much as he can put mind-over-matter, he also lets his heart strongly dictate his actions, leading to situations often getting worse before they get better. In desperation to prove that he was Danny Rand, he hijacked his former friend's car and crashed it into a barrier when he got too frustrated by the situation. That's not the only time Danny's lashed out when someone wasn't understanding where he was coming from. It also led him into a fight with Daredevil, and even saw Danny get kidnapped by the bad-guys before his friends could come save him. It's even by noted by Danny's on-screen actor that Danny's downfall in a fight is usually from Danny's emotions taking over.
— Naive: In many ways, Danny still sees the world through the eyes of a ten-year-old. That's the age he was when he found himself detached from the real world, and he spent fifteen years without any contact outside of his monastery. Having never gotten to experience life the way everyone else did, he's still learning that people are willing to manipulate others and do bad things to get what they want. Trusting people blindly saw Danny drugged and admitted to a psychiatric hospital, it caused him to inadvertently aid his enemies, almost got him killed, and it's ultimately what led to him losing his powers of the Iron Fist. Having only been back in the real world for a short time, Danny still takes things at face value. His desire to believe in the best intentions blinds his judgment, and it also means he forgives easily and gives multiple chances to people who don't deserve it. This is most obvious when it comes to his friend Davos, who he grew up alongside and who, on multiple occasions, sought to see Danny no longer be the Iron Fist - usually through some form of violence or death.
— Over Confident: Danny might suffer a bit from "chosen one" syndrome. His arrival in K'un-Lun, along with him becoming the Iron Fist, was foretold and it 's something he was aware of. While he did work hard for it, in the end he still became a legendary living weapon, champion of one of the Heavenly cities. He's very quick to introduce himself as the Immortal Iron Fist, even when people have no idea what that is, and often takes that title literally. Danny truly acts like he's invincible at times. He takes his abilities for granted, assuming fights will be easy and will go his way based on this virtue. He relies on the mantle to intimidate enemies out of a fight. Conversely, he also relies on it to try and get people to fall in line and listen to him. It really wasn't until Danny lost his powers that he began to see it for the gift it truly was.
