( october 2017 plot write-up and ooc plotting post pt. 1 )

October's plot progression will be posted in THREE parts. Only the last part will be a formal event log, so players are free to take the information provided in these plot write-ups and plan their own threads. Characters will also have a choice to make. What will they do after learning about or experiencing these events? Please note that you YOU MAY ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE CHOICE. This post will also function as a plotting post! THE ATTACK     Nobody, not even those most in tune with Olympia's underground, could have predicted the attack that will befall Olympia on the morning of the 1st of October. It's a busy time in the Market district, and that is likely why this group strikes when it does. A loud, thundering BOOM can be heard from the center of the district, and panic ensues. What was a pleasant morning in Olympia becomes one rife with confusion and fear. It's a bomb of some sort, and within a split seconds, the immediate area surrounding the point of explosion is covered with a thick, bright purple fog. There are no injuries. The explosion merely releases this unknown purple chemical into the air. Panic turns into confusion. Natives close to the attack site report beginning to feel unwell about an hour after exposure. Their memories of the attack are hazy. The following characters were unfortunate enough to be close to the site of explosion, and will now suffer the effects: Matt Murdock Bucky Barnes (Marvel 616) Junpei Tenmyouji Cheryl Blossom Allura Juvia Lockser Gaelio Bauduin Jean-Jacques Leroy Clary Fray Wrathion Athena Cykes Sansa Stark Rocket Lucy Pevensie Sirius Black Ariadne Rose Lalonde Percival de Rolo III Riza Hawkeye They have been infected with an unknown disease, simply referred to from here on out as VIOLET2710. At the moment, there is no call for a quarantine, as Empress Simwe cannot be reached. Although authorities are concerned, there seem to be no other symptoms other than those of the common flu. Characters will experience headaches, body aches, an elevated temperature, congestion, and cough. They are advised to get rest. The illness is determined contagious, but only through bodily fluids. Whether airborne infection is possible is still undetermined. Those feeling the effects of VIOLET2710 are advised to keep a close eye on their symptoms, avoid contact with others, and alert health officials of worsening symptoms. Infected characters may sign up for a choice as outlined below, but due their compromised physical state, will not be successful in completing CHOICE 1 or CHOICE 2. THE CULPRITS     The reckless terrorist is quickly caught mere minutes after setting off the biological weapons. She is a young woman, and has protected herself from the chemical accordingly. It appears that she did not anticipate being caught, and under threat of death, even she crumbles to a hearty dose of truth serum administered by Evras. The confession tape is sent as a city-wide broadcast to every citizen's phone. Remember the Carriage Quest? The Shady Man offered quite a large sum of money to those willing to do his bidding, didn't he? That's because someone intercepted his plan, and now, thanks to the help of certain people, he was able to get back on track. That carriage driver you killed? That was not his original cargo. The carriage driver knew that these were biological weapons meant to be set off in Olympia, hijacked the cargo, and raced to find a safe place to dispose of them. With the carriage driver killed and the cargo safely delivered to the South Outpost, the original plan was set to continue. After much resistance, she is willing to give up names. Soldier: 76. Ana Amari. Jesse McCree. Rocket. Peter Quill. Archer. Giovanni Rammsteiner. Leanne. Genjo Sanzo. Norba Shino. Those are the people who delivered the weapons to us. Thanks to them, your people will suffer. This is just the beginning, assholes. The feed cuts off. Unfortunately, despite having what you may have thought were good intentions, these characters are now Wanted Fugitives within the Kingdom of Olympia for the act of treason. They will be stripped of their job title, and will now have to wear disguises around the public parts of Olympia. Multiple postings around the city will show their face, and a 10,000 silver reward to anyone who hunts them down, captures them, and brings them to Ashti. My character will try to find a cure for this disease at The Sanctuary or Simwe Institute. Please note that characters who are not employees of either business must work with current employees. Evras and Lysa have temporarily called a truce for the sake of finding solutions ASAP, and everyone may work together.

Please choose ONE subchoice when signing up for this choice:

1. My character will discover a potion (you can determine the recipe, feel free to get creative based on the Flora and Fauna found nearby) that will help temporarily soothe a symptom associated with VIOLET2710. We will respond OOCly with what symptom they will be able to temporarily alleviate, and for how long.

2. My character will attempt to collect some of the lingering gas from the attack and study it. We will respond OOCly with what they will discover.

3. My character will find out something interesting about the tooth extracted in Flona Cove. This option requires that your character has previously retrieved this artifact. Please provide a link to an ongoing/finished log as proof. We will respond OOCly with what they will discover.

4. My character will provide supportive care for sick PC(s). They will administer fluids, help with management of pain, and closely monitor symptoms. By doing so, they will be the first to notice any worsening symptoms and changes in patients' vitals.

Because VIOLET2710 was detonated in the Market district, vendors and other citizens will need volunteers' assistance in throwing out affected foods, cleaning salvageable items, and taking their roles while they are on sick leave. They will provided protective gear made by the Institute.

1. My character will spend most of their time volunteering to help npc citizens. They may overhear small talk from who they are assisting/patrons.

Not only is he infected, but he's one of the damn suspects, and he will not, under any circumstances, turn himself in, especially in a compromised state, because... Evras, mostly, and also because, honestly, taking a bad job for money has happened to him too many times to feel that bad about it.

For the most part... Since some people he likes are infected and Peter's in the same boat with him, he's gonna be a little bit conflicted emotionally, but mostly a whiny sick bitch who is HIDING FROM EVERYTHING.

Which works since I'm gonna be on hiatus for the first part of this.

SO I'm signing Jae-Ha up for choice one, which means he'll be after the shady man and his associates... I am very up for plotting with other people who want to go after an associate NPC of any kind and thread that out!

Also, since he has no idea what happened or who any of the "wanted" people are, he'll probably go after them too! He has a good heart, though, so if they can make their case well enough he'll back off... but if anyone wants to be captured by jae-ha for this, let me know!!

I'm thinking I'll probably throw up an open log with a few different options but if anyone wants something specific, hit me up!

edit: ALSO... for those inclined to murder who want CR, Jae-Ha's morals will probably make him interrupt any killing strikes because that's not beautiful. so we could always do something like that, too! get mad at him... fight him, I don't know, I want everything

So Peter done fucked up taking a sketchy job that turned out to be super sketchy even by his standards. He'll be a fugitive who may or may not get infected because he won't abandon Rocket. Also he won't be at Shades Darker for your other needs (sadness; he loved that job)

Unlike Rocket, Peter might be more likely to turn himself in if he can get talked into it or otherwise "convinced". He'll be much more likely to feel guilt and want to make this right since he had a direct hand in this...but he also still has his self-preservation, so yes. He might get infected due to Rocket so that could also slow him down.

Open to people tracking him down, trying to talk him into it or maybe just kicking his ass so he can get dragged in caveman-style to the local authorities.

If you're down for it, I'll have Vic hunt him down. One of those infected is gonna be his niece, so he'll have an axe to grind. But since he's a fugitive for different reasons, it would be trying to legitimately just kill Peter. Which I mean, obviously he doesn't have to die, but can't blame a guy for trying?

So if you want a chance at some negative CR, Ermes wants to find and capture the PCs that were named by the terrorist, because 10k is great. She's going to try to appeal first, say that they should turn themselves in and know that there will be refugees who will absolutely try to argue for their good name (she herself would do this for anyone she knows.) But if that doesn't work, she will definitely go into fight mode.

SO if any of the listed folks wants to do anything with this, hit me up? She won't be looking to kill... cause she wants the silver. Being a bounty hunter is definitely not the same as being a cop she will argue this to make herself feel better.

Yona is going into this with the intention of helping nurse people back to health, but is going to wind up infected herself very early on! If anyone would like to thread while she's still healthy/when she starts showing symptoms/after she gets really sick, just let me know. o/

Haru, on the other hand, is going after the Shady Man and his associates with the intention of turning them in to Ashti, since she thinks they ought to be made to repent and pay for their crimes instead of just being killed. She doesn't personally know any of the fugitives, but her canonmates know some of them, so she's interested in tracking them down and hearing their side of the story, if that's something you'd be interested in playing out! She wouldn't force any of the player characters to turn themselves in, but she'd accompany them and try to help them plead their case if they were able to convince her that they really didn't know what this was going to be turning into.

Lavellan is totally going option one. His reasoning being that it's likely to gain them more information and potentially get the fugitivies off the hook (if they had no prior awareness to this plan.) So he will be running around trying to capture the shady man and associates.

Other things though he will actually attempt to find the fugitives (that means you Player character friends) and convince them to turn themselves in. He will definitely try and help make a case for them and get them off the hook for what happened if he believes they weren't trying to hurt people. Also he believes in second chances and shit like that.

Otherwise, he's open for anything.

Kirei is all about murdering possible threats to his own future plans -- and also bodies of people that he cannot control. That said, he's going to be assisting with the murder-death-kill sort of things. Who of the murder party wants to hang out with this monologuing jerkass?

Cain is signed up for Choice 1 — he'll be hunting down the Shady Man and his associates and doing his best to keep anyone from killing his targets in retaliation. I'm happy to have him clash with more vengeance-minded hunters or team up to capture a fugitive. He's also going to be investigating the whole mess to try to find out anything he can, so partners to join in that endeavor would be great, too!

For those now labeled as fugitives, he's going to be trying to track them down, too — not to turn them in, but to get information, particularly already established CR. He can be persuaded to help them with the whole fugitive thing and try to argue for their innocence if so desired.

WELL koltira's idea of justice generally equates to the death penalty, so left unattended he'll be fighting to kill. he can likely be convinced not to, if someone interrupts him and offers a reasonable argument otherwise, but left to his own devices--he doesn't really see why these people are needed alive. they're dangerous, they've already caused damage, and they gotta be brought down (so goes his ruthless, myopic thinking).

that, and ... he needs blood. so he's gonna take this opportunity to get some blood. would def love team-up for murder and/or people to deter him from doing so!!

JUNPEI is ill af... he has Issues with bioterrorism because Zero Escape is that way, so his natural inclination is to try option 1/2 even though he'll just fall down from being too sick eventually. If anyone wants to... not succeed?! then he's your guy. Peel him off the floor. Or come save his ass and steal his kill, I'm flexible and that would be SICK.

He's also available to accidentally get people sick! Since he'll be making bad decisions and being out around town acting like he isn't sick, this is a high probability. Basically he's going to try to do as many things as he can around the city before he's physically incapable of doing any more. So yes.


MERLIN is going to investigate, probably, but he'll also be volunteering his services as an official potion tester even though he won't be getting sick. He has a passable knowledge of ye olde apothecary stuff and he is very magical with a decent knowledge base of healing magic, so he can help out with that stuff! It's fine, he drinks poison just to prove a point all the time, he'll be fine. edits this bc i put merlin down for potion making SO HE'LL BE GETTING AT LEAST ONE GOOD POTION OUT OF HIS EFFORTS, BUT THE REST ARE GOING TO SUCK BALLS...... they'll be terrible. they will make you nauseous. it will be a bad time. please participate or at least watch merlin hurt himself.

Reinhardt's quest is going to be two fold here. First, he wants to try and catch the Shady Man and bring him to justice...AND keep him alive so that the man can clear his friends of wrongdoing. Because of that, if he gets his hands on someone, he's going to be doing everything he can to keep them alive and out of Team Murder's hands until they can get to justice.

The other thing he's going to be attempting is convincing the powers that be that his friends are innocent/good and not traitors. He's already tried to contact them to convince them to turn themselves in.

Bellamy will likely be going with choice 5, just helping, because he doesn't know anything about the factions or what's going on. He'll likely be trying to organize groups to both help NPCs, but he's more than able to be pulled into choice 1 or even choice 2 if things go south, so if you want your character to persuade him, let me know! If that happens, he'll be doing a bit of the same thing—instinctively taking on a leadership position and possibly ordering people around.

He's also going to be very worried about Sansa and Clary :')

Magnus - Choice 1

Magnus will be working on hunting down the Shady Man and associates. He will probably try to capture them, but he's not going to be very good at doing that instead of being lethal - he's bad at preventing himself from using deadly force on a normal day, and some aspects of this (the sneak attack, innocent people being hurt, working at the clinic so seeing the victims upfront) are likely to make him extra angry and volatile. Someone who can keep from from killing, or, alternatively, someone who encourages his temper would be a lot of fun to thread out.

I'm happy to plot anything with anyone! He'll be working with Taako, but we can split them up or do a threeway thread quite easily.

EDIT: I should also mention Magnus works at the clinic! He will probably be lying low seeing as he's not a healer and shouldn't get infected, but I'm happy to thread stuff out with anyone sick. He will carve you ducks and cheer you up.
