❪ mod address ❫ GAME UPDATES
Hello, El Nysa! There are several updates and changes we'd like to address this evening. We'll keep it short and sweet, so please read everything thoroughly!
Before we begin, as mentioned on our Plurk, we've accepted several help to keep this game running smoothly. We'd like to thank everyone who offered their help and hope we continue to meet your expectations of the game! On that note, we prefer sending out smaller updates in our Plurk (
elnysa)! If you don't have us followed, please take care that you do.
Moving on, then:

Moving on, then:
- CAST CAP: After much discussion among the mod team, we've unanimously decided to implement a cast cap of fifteen (15) characters. This is to prevent cast inflation. There is no cap on reserves, but we will judge applications based on a first-come, first serve basis, so we encourage everyone to follow our "Received Applications" Plurk when we have that up to stay updated.
That said, we recommend players with potential castmates, as well as prospective players, to plan accordingly this app round.- HOUSING INFO. We would like to premise this update with an apology from the mod team for having been inconsistent with some information, causing much confusion among the playerbase. This update is to officially scrap the housing list generously compiled and maintained by Emi (Tina's player). Due to complications of keeping the list maintained with new waves of characters coming in, there will no longer be a randomized list or house numbers. This is something that we expect players will decide for themselves OOCly. Please refer to Emi's housing information for details about the beginner housing. Please keep in mind that there will be a new page containing all new housing information!
Moving forward, characters are still able to stay in their starter houses with their current roommates if they pay a small monthly fee. Characters may also choose to move out and upgrade, but that's up to player's discretion. Alternatively, feel free to handwave reasons why your characters have to stay in their particular unit; we're leaving to you to fill in the details.- CALENDAR. The Calendar has been updated! The next event will take place on September 13th.
- REQUESTED POWERS VIA ACP REWARDS. This should go without saying, but all requested powers will be subject to mod approval. We may also adjust the "pricing" of the points depending on the requested power. Please keep this in mind!
- NPC-LEAD JOBS. We should have responded to all of NPC-lead job PMs by now. Please PM us on
nysan if we accidentally missed you! That said, characters may pick up an NPC job at any time. Because we are unavailable for personal threads at the moment, just send us a PM, and we can work out the details!
- AC STRIKES RULE. We've recently made changes to the strikes rule. Previously, we allowed up to three strikes before a character is removed to the game. Due to how low our AC requirements are, we will now only allow one AC strike without question. Please plan accordingly.

QUESTIONS.

re: cast cap:
- Does this apply across franchises (re: 10 final fantasy xv players and 5 final fantasy x players = 15 final fantasy cast cap and no other is applicable)?
- Does this apply across mediums as well (books, television adaptations, etc)?
I'd also like to personally throw my opinion in that 15 is still a pretty high number and even with our game growing, could take a chunk of the population of canons. The problem with 15 is that there would definitely still be the issue of dominance in the setting. If this proves to be an issue, would you as mods consider lowering it to say 10 or so in the future?
re: housing
- When you say there will be no housing numbers or list, but there will be a page... what do you mean by this? I'm a little confused! I was wondering if there was a way to have a Google Spreadsheet of housing where upon acceptance (if they have plan) or later on if the player finds plans, we can simply have a directory with names/roomies/housing numbers? I think having something editable from the players perspective 100% would allow that weight to be off your shoulders and you can focus on worldbuilding!
Once again, thank you so much for these updates!

1. For the time being, we are considering franchises as single canons. This includes Final Fantasy and other series like the Tales Of games or Fate/ franchise, for additional examples. At this time this is non-negotiable, but it may become subject to change in the future when we have seen how the umbrella cap of 15 works out for now!
2. Yes, adaptations are currently all considered part of the same canon.
2.5. As stated in our first response, the cap of 15 is currently experimental and is subject to change if the game needs it!
3. The housing page we're referring to is a purely informational page - essentially, we'll be taking the established information from Emi's post for what the houses look like and what they have in them and putting that information on a mod journal. On this page we will be linking a spreadsheet that the mod team will not be using to assign housing, but players may use for organizational purposes. In sum: yes! Players will be allowed to assign themselves starter housing as they see fit, but the process of randomized housing will no longer be in play.

when i think of cast caps, i think of canons where those can get too tight vs. understanding the urge to want even, fair distribution, and trying to balance that. given that the game is already so large, however, similar to the FF point raised above, i worry that a cast cap of 15 is suuuper tight for the MCU when all the movies and shows are combined. it would definitely be unfair to limit that canon to 10 as it currently exists, too, counter to what the player above me suggested.
i have no problem with a cap, itself, but for sprawling, beastly canons like the MCU, would it be worth considering a split? film vs. tv-verse? that way movie characters and characters from netflix, AoS, and agent carter aren't all at each other's throats?
i can understand if not, but i thought i'd bring it up for thought-chewing!
