September CR Meme & Outline
Welcome to the September outline! While outlines aren't exactly the newest thing we've done here, this one is particularly special because it's the first time we're combining the outline with the CR meme. We're hoping this will help alleviate problems with plotting and facilitating CR in the past, as now players know exactly what they're plotting for.
Outlines give players a general idea of what will be coming up in the month, and you're free to interpret it however you like. If you have any questions or would like to start threads early, please feel free to! There shouldn't be any gamewide plot that would restrict players from pursuing their own personal plots; if there were, we will mark it! The upcoming event/intro log will go into detail and have specific prompts and scenarios you may play out, but in general, we would like players to have freedom to play whatever they like. Please look forward to that! Quests will be released on September 20th and will be the primary method to receive REP from any of the three major cities. As a final note, CR Memes are open to all players! SEPTEMBER OUTLINE ![]() Week One — The red dwarf sun continues to rise and set as though the calamity had never happened, and the moons Thesa and Alria continue to shine brightly in the nights as though the Natha are still watching. To those that came from Thesa, this event had taken place two lengthy months ago; to the average native, whose time had stood still, it's a catastrophe that is still fresh on their minds. And even still, life goes on. Olympia goes about their days humbled by Darma's frozen gaze, whereas Wyver is shamed by Ysverai's frozen wrath. It's no surprise that up in Thesa, the newly awakened are preparing to descend to this new El Nysa as well. The Natha Orbiters are no longer watching, but it doesn't mean that you're out of allies. Nurray of Nadril has offered to utilize Natha technology to set a beacon in her colony. As the colony provides high-speed transportation to both Olympia and Wyver, you might find that it is an ideal location to start off with before venturing out into the once-warring cities. You'll be offered an opportunity to declare one of these cities, Olympia or Wyver, your home. Week Two — Event. An eerily still night settles over Nysa on the 8th. All over the isles, an otherworldly hum lilts from up above. Some may hear it in the sky, in the leaves of trees, or between stone edifices, filling the air around them. Most speculate it’s emanating from the still rotten battlegrounds, or the imposing statue of Ysverai. Travel to these locations, and the tone may resonate louder, but it will remain impossible to pinpoint. The sound waxes and wanes until sunlight crests on the horizon, severe orange light bringing an end to the disquieting night. With the sunlight come the spirits of the dead, their souls restless in the wake of Ysverai’s destruction. They wander the battle fields and city streets alike, appearing anywhere the great dragon’s wail reached. The search for resolution is shared by all of the roaming spectres. Some yearn to see a lover once more, some toil to recover a lost family artifact. Others simply want their remains given a proper grave, or cry for vengeance. Satisfying each ghost’s desire will put that soul to rest, though there are some who cannot be pacified in such a way. Exorcisms fill in where other techniques fall short, banishing spirits steeped in malaise or incapable of finding their own way. Of course, passages into other realms of existence are two way roads, and the myth of summoning creatures from the other side can be quite the temptation. Week Three — Quests. The spirits of the dead might be out and about, but life still goes on, regardless. As the dead in Olympia and Wyver continue to be laid to rest, communications from the north reveal that Magda has gone missing from Nadril. With the disappearance comes a reintroduction - Cree has returned to the Gilded Cage, resuming his position as a leader of the underground. Hard times for the layman are a criminal's most bountiful opportunity, and, as always, Cree is willing to share in his profits. When it comes down to it, there are always things that need doing, and who better than the refugees to handle it? After all, they’re blessed by Thesa. Surely they can help make things easier in these trying times. The quest board will go live later this month. It will include opportunities for characters to earn REP from Olympia, Wyver, and Nadril, as well as the opportunity to earn money and other artifacts from the Gilded Cage. Week Four — Ysverai’s scourge is a tragedy that will go remembered for centuries, tales of the calamity already woven by song and ink alike. The great nations of Nysa, while looking to the future and working to restore their former glory, recognize the need to maintain their pasts - not as Olympians or Wyvers, but as Nysans. A great memorial has been proposed between Simwe and Shanrian, both leaders looking to their own people for contributions. Supplies, manpower, and creative direction are all sought after, an effort to create a monument that resonates with everyone who gazes upon it. The endeavor commemorates not only mutual loss, but a shared devotion to a future in which such catastrophe will never come to the people of Nysa again. The leaders will also be seeking suggestions as to where to put it. With this memorial, the remaining souls that have been haunting all of El Nysa will be finally put to rest. CR/INTRO MEME ▶ Handle. rinna / yau si (lee yut lung)
▶ Preferred Contact.
▶ Friending Policy. it's okay to add me! i'm shy, but i'll do my best!
▶ Interests. i chatter about various anime and manga, and by chatter i often mean rage out. evangelion, seikaisuru kado, natsume yuujinchou, and banana fish are among these. i also take and post pictures of pretty nature things, sometimes. i don't use plurk a ton! when i do, it's usually some whim or other.
▶ Tagging Habits. i'm EST and work 40 hrs a week M-F. jesus christ lmao! but i'm often up late. still, i won't always tag every day, so please let me know if you're not cool with a degree of backtagging.
▶ Character Name & Series. Yau Si (Lee Yut Lung) / Banana Fish
▶ Character Age. 16
▶ Photo Reference. tending toward the sweaters here.
▶ Permissions. Link
▶ Personality Blurb. hates himself, fairly okay with the idea of dying. underage drinking as a coping mechanism. he's an envious, backstabbing snake, but he Just Wants to Be Loved, which, you know, ain't that the popular excuse. he's trying to pretend that none of those things are true, as if he can rewrite himself and not have to deal with his past, but good fucking luck, kid. slap the wine out of his hand and see if he chills the fuck out. he probably will not, but it's worth a shot.
he's also great with plants. \?_?/
▶ Desired CR. Mean Girls CR suits him well. he's a concerning boy, so folks who are concerned might do him some good, even if it'll spook him. he's prime for bullying, so you're welcome to bully. he also has unfortunate taste in crushes--namely, off-limits men in a position to make him feel safe appeal to his own sense of self-loathing. if a character is pure, he'll be jealous of them.
▶ Offered CR. Mean Girls CR, lmao. he often finds himself in the position of an antagonist, primarily because he's a petty, jealous bitch. he's also great for teasing or bullying, because he'll unexpectedly flare into the most flustered, floundering sixteen-year-old. and, he can offer someone to tend to, if your character is the nurturing type.
▶ Rooming Plans. he's used to a life of luxury. downsize him, please. humble him.
▶ Game Plans. my primary plans for him at the start involve his desperate delusions of being Yau Si Dawson, a diligent, intelligent student adopted by a doctor, and not Lee Yut Lung, a shitty person. coming to terms with himself over time is what i most want to pursue, so i'm interested in his day-to-day life and having to deal with Real Shit that he would rather avoid.
▶ Event Plans. right now, i'm playing around with ghostly ideas. he loved his dead mother; he hated his dead brothers. it's tough to figure out which to go with, lmao, and might depend on the sorts of relationships he develops between now and then.
▶ Anything Else?

do you have any upcoming plans for takasugi being out and about? yau si will be super fresh and floundering, so he has a lot of open opportunity to work with.
no subject
Takasugi is basically anywhere he needs to be - he crashes with two different characters, one in Wyver and one in Olympia, so he's flexible! He'll probably be out dealing with the ghosts in multiple capacities, but I can set up something prior to that if you'd like them to have a more neutral foundation!

once i get a look at the intro log, i'll probably have a better idea of how he'll be attempting to get his bearings! (and there will be... an attempt... that doesn't mean there won't be a failure.)

Waiting for the intro log sounds like a good idea, we can either hit each other up back here or I'll jump into whatever toplevel you write if you throw one up!

just like saying it
anyway she'd be very much up to being the Tough Voice He Needs To Hear if you'd like!

so i'd be stoked for anyone who might make him peak into his hysteria (lmao) so he can act his age instead of stressing out over secrets and guilt. nothing like a little tantrum to put things in perspective!!!

but oh boy that sounds like an opportunity ren would be glad to take...possibly multiple times...

a crash course in uhhh "ethics" and "honor" (sounds fake but ok) would be pretty interesting to see imposed upon yau si; i'd totally be game for something like this!! also cattiness, since it is his bread and butter, but i'd love for him to learn about, like, not being QUITE as shitty as he tends to be.

So you know, not really that nice.

i don't know if yau si will ever be able to stop being a shitheel, but molly is welcome to try to tell him he should be anyway. i'm really looking forward to cr that has yau si feeling like he's being bullied lmao...
