September CR Meme & Outline
Welcome to the September outline! While outlines aren't exactly the newest thing we've done here, this one is particularly special because it's the first time we're combining the outline with the CR meme. We're hoping this will help alleviate problems with plotting and facilitating CR in the past, as now players know exactly what they're plotting for.
Outlines give players a general idea of what will be coming up in the month, and you're free to interpret it however you like. If you have any questions or would like to start threads early, please feel free to! There shouldn't be any gamewide plot that would restrict players from pursuing their own personal plots; if there were, we will mark it! The upcoming event/intro log will go into detail and have specific prompts and scenarios you may play out, but in general, we would like players to have freedom to play whatever they like. Please look forward to that! Quests will be released on September 20th and will be the primary method to receive REP from any of the three major cities. As a final note, CR Memes are open to all players! SEPTEMBER OUTLINE ![]() Week One — The red dwarf sun continues to rise and set as though the calamity had never happened, and the moons Thesa and Alria continue to shine brightly in the nights as though the Natha are still watching. To those that came from Thesa, this event had taken place two lengthy months ago; to the average native, whose time had stood still, it's a catastrophe that is still fresh on their minds. And even still, life goes on. Olympia goes about their days humbled by Darma's frozen gaze, whereas Wyver is shamed by Ysverai's frozen wrath. It's no surprise that up in Thesa, the newly awakened are preparing to descend to this new El Nysa as well. The Natha Orbiters are no longer watching, but it doesn't mean that you're out of allies. Nurray of Nadril has offered to utilize Natha technology to set a beacon in her colony. As the colony provides high-speed transportation to both Olympia and Wyver, you might find that it is an ideal location to start off with before venturing out into the once-warring cities. You'll be offered an opportunity to declare one of these cities, Olympia or Wyver, your home. Week Two — Event. An eerily still night settles over Nysa on the 8th. All over the isles, an otherworldly hum lilts from up above. Some may hear it in the sky, in the leaves of trees, or between stone edifices, filling the air around them. Most speculate it’s emanating from the still rotten battlegrounds, or the imposing statue of Ysverai. Travel to these locations, and the tone may resonate louder, but it will remain impossible to pinpoint. The sound waxes and wanes until sunlight crests on the horizon, severe orange light bringing an end to the disquieting night. With the sunlight come the spirits of the dead, their souls restless in the wake of Ysverai’s destruction. They wander the battle fields and city streets alike, appearing anywhere the great dragon’s wail reached. The search for resolution is shared by all of the roaming spectres. Some yearn to see a lover once more, some toil to recover a lost family artifact. Others simply want their remains given a proper grave, or cry for vengeance. Satisfying each ghost’s desire will put that soul to rest, though there are some who cannot be pacified in such a way. Exorcisms fill in where other techniques fall short, banishing spirits steeped in malaise or incapable of finding their own way. Of course, passages into other realms of existence are two way roads, and the myth of summoning creatures from the other side can be quite the temptation. Week Three — Quests. The spirits of the dead might be out and about, but life still goes on, regardless. As the dead in Olympia and Wyver continue to be laid to rest, communications from the north reveal that Magda has gone missing from Nadril. With the disappearance comes a reintroduction - Cree has returned to the Gilded Cage, resuming his position as a leader of the underground. Hard times for the layman are a criminal's most bountiful opportunity, and, as always, Cree is willing to share in his profits. When it comes down to it, there are always things that need doing, and who better than the refugees to handle it? After all, they’re blessed by Thesa. Surely they can help make things easier in these trying times. The quest board will go live later this month. It will include opportunities for characters to earn REP from Olympia, Wyver, and Nadril, as well as the opportunity to earn money and other artifacts from the Gilded Cage. Week Four — Ysverai’s scourge is a tragedy that will go remembered for centuries, tales of the calamity already woven by song and ink alike. The great nations of Nysa, while looking to the future and working to restore their former glory, recognize the need to maintain their pasts - not as Olympians or Wyvers, but as Nysans. A great memorial has been proposed between Simwe and Shanrian, both leaders looking to their own people for contributions. Supplies, manpower, and creative direction are all sought after, an effort to create a monument that resonates with everyone who gazes upon it. The endeavor commemorates not only mutual loss, but a shared devotion to a future in which such catastrophe will never come to the people of Nysa again. The leaders will also be seeking suggestions as to where to put it. With this memorial, the remaining souls that have been haunting all of El Nysa will be finally put to rest. CR/INTRO MEME ▶ Handle. ▶ Preferred Contact.
▶ Friending Policy. Add away, add away, add away
▶ Interests. I claim I’m interested in ASOIAF/Game of Thrones but in truth, I really only talk into the void about the Iron Islands and the ironborn. Someone has to love them. I also am the one person who keeps the plurk world updated on ongoing 1990s Britpop feuds. Why? I don’t know. They amuse me. I also talk about my art sometimes and music your dad probably likes and Les Miserables and why it’s actually a comedy.

Theon Greyjoy | A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones
▶ Character Age. ~21
▶ Photo Reference. if you want to get real technical, he looks something like this right now but like combine it with this
▶ Permissions. Link
▶ Personality Blurb.
A trainwreck personified! He was dealt a shitty hand in life but continuously makes shitty decisions to make things even harder for himself. He's been a lot of things: the heir to the Iron Islands, a ward (or political prisoner, depends on how nice you want to be with your wording) to House Stark, self-titled Prince of Winterfell, a turncloak, an actual prisoner tortured beyond recognition, and a creature called Reek (it rhymes with weak).
He’s a troubled and stubborn young man, easily wounded and constantly at odds with his own identity. He doesn’t know who he is as a person when you strip away all his acts. He’s full of self-loathing and doubt, and guilt over the things he's done weigh heavily on him. He's easily offended and easily angered, but he's fairly withdrawn now. He bites back a lot of the things he used to say and no longer allows himself to lash out, because he's learned that that sort of behavior is what earns you a punishment. Sometimes the old Theon will show through with a dry remark or a jape, though. He's still pretty freshly canon updated to the end of A Dance with Dragons so he isn't in the best place right now. He knows his name and he wants to keep it, but he's on shaky ground. One moment, he'll be certain that he would rather die than be made into Reek again, and another moment he thinks he might not be so bad, because Reek isn't nearly as guilty as Theon Greyjoy is. He doesn't trust easily, he doesn't like being touched out of fear that pain might come along with it. He is a mess, but he’s doing better.
▶ Desired CR. HE NEEDS ANY CR BECAUSE A LOT OF HIS CR LEFT. This guy does not make friends easily, so anyone who’s willing to put up with his bullshit would be a great start.
▶ Offered CR. Uhh…well, if you ever needed to talk to someone who’s been through some shit, he’s your man. He knows his weaponry, especially archery, even if he’s still working up the strength to get back into it. He’s not especially friendly, but…he’ll do. HE ALSO HAS THREE DOGS. DOGS ARE GOOD, RIGHT?
▶ Rooming Plans. He now lives in Olympia with Claire Fraser and her
armyfamily (as if he’d want you to live with him anyway Robb!!!)▶ Game Plans. Excuse him while he spends three months begging for Robb’s forgiveness, thanks. He’s also eventually going to get some of his medical stuff taken care of so you won’t have to look at his ugly broken teeth anymore. With Maximus Boltagon gone, the plant shop in Olympia is kind of left in his care? So he’ll probably…be asking around for people to help him with that. He doesn’t know how to care for plants.
▶ Event Plans. Theon has a looooot of ghosts. A good chunk of Theon’s story arc revolves around his grief because he’s haunted by these metaphorical ghosts so uh HELLO THANK YOU THIS IS A GOOD PLOT. His own guilt will definitely drive him to deal with other people’s ghosts.

Hm.
I think John could probably handle him? He handles moody acerbic people on the norm, and he might be a little... dismissive at first if they meet casually? Since he has no idea what all Theon's issues stem from and John doesn't default to super deep. However! We could probably frame a situation so John took him seriously, b/c John recognises PTSD when he sees it, and once John as adopted you he's like a dog herding you up and making sure you're okay all the time.

i need to watch GoT, i s2fgI feel like, if jesse gets to know at least a little of theon's story, he will be pretty gentle with him tbh. He'd look at Theon, see that he's still a kid, really, only a few years younger than jesse... and that would affect jesse. Cos Jesse, underneath all his bravado and reckless stupidity, is actually a nurturing guy who hates cruelty and suffering. AND IF I EVER UPDATE JESSE TO END OF S5... MAN, HE WILL KNOW, IN HIS OWN WAY, EXACTLY WHAT BEING A PRISONER IS LIKE.

Oh man, buddy, talk to Claire. Get adopted by Claire, and you'll get the obligatory warning about Theon. MAN, BUDDY, PAL, I'M JUST REALLY EXCITED FOR THIS CR ON A LOT OF LEVELS TBH? I think it will be gr8.

Grantaire | Les Miserables
▶ Character Age. 29, going on 30
▶ Photo Reference. Full body shots don’t exist for this film
▶ Permissions. Link
▶ Personality Blurb.
Grantaire is from Paris, France, 1832. He has died, and he's a skeptic. He makes a point to believe in absolutely nothing. No religion, no politics, and definitely not most of the stuff he’s seeing here (god he’s trying so hard not to). He does, however, believe very much in Enjolras. It’s not very subtle. He drinks to excess—and yes, this is a problem. He’s an alcoholic, and he drinks, as he puts it “to forget life”. He’s depressed, lacks motivation and ambition, and can hardly follow through with a task without losing interest, but he has good humor sometimes. He handles most things with a very flippant attitude, not actually serious about much. He studied painting once, but lack of ambition got in the way. He’s apparently a good fencer, boxer, dancer and gymnast, but that damn lack of ambition…He isn’t all bad qualities, though. He’s full of good humor, cracks a good joke, is sort of obsessed with Greek mythology, and he loves his friends above all else. His good humor was the reason his friends kept him around to begin with. It is truly is best characteristic. He's extremely self-deprecating and doesn't seem to think much of himself, but he thinks a great deal of others.
▶ Desired CR. Anyone who can tolerate him, and anyone who cannot tolerate him. More negative CR would be nice, I think. Grantaire is certain he’s a negative person, but few people actually fuel that notion for him. He has a good heart, but he’s an irritating drunk who casts a gloomy shadow over every conversation. ALL CR, THOUGH. THAT’S GOOD.
▶ Offered CR. Friendship is one of the most important things to Grantaire. He can’t get by without it. So for all his poor personality points and however difficult he may be to put up with, he cares about others and genuinely is a good friend at heart. He’s quite good at building others up (while putting himself down in the process), and he refuses to choose sides when it comes to most things. He is a thoroughly neutral party. He is also a good talker and a good drinking buddy until he’s had too much and gets depressed.
▶ Rooming Plans. He lives in Wyver with Jehan and Enjolras. It’s all very French.
▶ Game Plans. Continue to drink, continue to not tell any of his friends he has a job while silently paying rent. I don’t have a lot of big plans, honestly! I’m fairly open.
▶ Event Plans. He will probably deal with the ghosts because he, like the ghosts, is an incredibly gloomy person.
