❪ mod address ❫ AC Policy

Good evening, El Nysa!

Following yesterday's AC results, we've received several PMs with concerns about our AC policy that we feel need to be addressed collectively, as we feel there are some misconceptions about the established rules.

We reiterate that our AC policy, while strict, is necessary in order to streamline the process of moderating and running the game. While we are grateful for the success of the game, it has already grown much larger and faster than we originally anticipated. Making exceptions for individual players who miss submitting AC, without extenuating circumstances, only puts more on our plate that hampers our ability to successfully run other aspects of the game. We feel the AC rules have been very clear, and do not intend to change them in the future.

That said, we appreciate everyone who has weighed in on this topic. While we will not be responding to any individual PMs on the subject, we shall address some points that were brought up.

  • EXTENDING THE AC SUBMISSION PERIOD & IMPLEMENTING WARNING LISTS. This was also brought up previously when we first announced our AC submission period. Again, this is non-negotiable for the reasons stated above. For plot and ACP purposes, we want to get AC done as soon as possible. A tight time frame means that we can focus on AC and ACP only during that time period before moving on to other things. A longer AC period will only hurt the mod team and the overall plot schedule in the long run.

In the same vein, warning lists will only stagger us. As this game is adults only, we do not believe it should be necessary for us to chase down players to submit their AC. We have been upfront from the beginning that missing AC will automatically result in removal from the game. To ensure this does not happen, there are multiple tools available to players: this includes tracking the AC tag, contacting a mod if you believe you will be away or without internet during AC period, and communicating with your fellow players/friends to make sure you are reminded to submit AC.

  • THE AC POLICY. It has been mentioned that our AC policy is not clear. You may read the rules here:
WE WILL NOT CHASE YOU FOR AC. This means that we will not issue AC warning lists. Activity checks will always be the last four days of every month. Failure to submit your AC within this time period will count as an automatic fail, and you will be ejected from the game immediately after we process ACs. Please plan ahead and contact a mod if you cannot submit for whatever reason.
This was also outlined in AC posts themselves.

Dreamwidth is not the only way you can contact us; we are also available on Plurk and Discord. As long as efforts are made to contact us before AC submission period ends, we will hear you out.

  • ALLOWING PROXY AC SUBMISSIONS. We have decided to allow friends/castmates to submit AC for other players as long as the player has given the mods a heads up beforehand.
We hope that answers and addresses any concerns you may have about about our AC. As an aside, thank you to everyone who gave us words of encouragement as we continue to move the game forward.

If you have any further concerns, feel free to PM us directly or use our modbox for other ways to get a hold of us. Thank you!
