February Outline & CR Meme

Welcome to the February edition of our monthly outlines. Just as last month, we are keeping up with the present trend of including the CR meme alongside it. Naturally, this is open to all players.
As always, outlines give players a general idea of what will be coming up in the month, and you're free to interpret it however you like. If you have any questions or would like to start threads early, please feel free to! The upcoming event will go into detail and have specific prompts and scenarios you may play out, but in general, we would like players to have freedom to play whatever they like. Please look forward to that! The schedule is currently up-to-date, so please be sure to keep an eye on that as well. FEBRUARY OUTLINE
Rebirth of Frey, the Lusty Phoenix —
While venturing in this foreign time, everyone is urged to keep their identities as outsiders unknown. There is ample supply of clothing to choose from, all completely free and available within the hub in Nadril. Wearing the proper garb, keeping any knowledge of the Natha, or other worlds between Thesans only, and not disrupting the peace in any major way are all of utmost importance. In short, don’t stand out. If you do, the locals will be less likely to trust you, perhaps thinking you a Wyvern spy, and the future could be altered in unknown ways. The Natha, too, are keeping their ever watchful eye on the planet beneath them. If they notice anyone who seems like they shouldn’t be there, their surveillance will increase. The effects of this on the individual will be mild - from a general sense of unease to a diminished sense of direction - for now. The Nadril of the past — which will be serving as your base of operations for this mission — is a town that prizes quality over quantity. That is to say, they don’t have an ample amount of rooms to offer. Two to a room, with either bunk beds or twin beds on either side of a small space, is the best they can manage. Find someone to share with, or let luck select your companion for you. Olympia is on the cusp of a holiday known as Frey's Indulgence, a celebration of love, romance, and the bonds people share. For some, it is an excuse for indulgence, and for others, a time to reflect on their valuable friends and family. Officially, a masquerade ball is thrown the evening of the Indulgence, with everyone from prince to pauper invited. There is one simple catch: everyone attending must be a couple. To denote this, couples must wear matching outfits, with at least one accessory or garment that is the same on them both. The party has an air of mystery, of revelry. Linked with their lovers, everyone’s spirits are high. Rumors float around between pairs of the Frey’s imminent rebirth, and where they think he may appear — some believe he may even appear at this very ball. Take care to listen, and to glean what you can from this conversation - remember: you aren’t here for the party, you’re here on a mission. Even if that wine is awfully tempting... Finding Frey may prove difficult, but acquiring the god’s ear is even more of an endeavor. He’s not the overly generous sort - but if you can do a favor for him, perhaps he’ll hear you out. There’s great power to be gained in earning a god’s favor, but as always - great trials precede that honor. Frey’s test of will shall be treated as a quest, and be released later in the month, after the masquerade event. In addition to this, there will also be an opportunity for a more low-key celebration of love with new and familiar faces. This may be the Olympia of the past, but many of the resources available in the present are still there — You Watanabe’s Valentine’s matchmaking will be occurring a few days before the masquerade itself. Take the chance to relax, or perhaps this will even help you come up with your cover stories to sneak into the ball as a couple…? CR MEME ▶ Handle. What do you go by?

- how does rep work now we're in the past? Is it just no longer applicable or is it still usable oocly at least if we want to spend points, since we're for example hiding from the Natha now who I guess therefore cannot grant us things...?
- what about things we already bought! Should I assume everything is left in the future, or could John have say -- parked his shuttle in nadril and cloaked it so it's invisible, smuggled his dog on board, and therefore anything he wanted to bring would be in Nadril if it was caught by the time machine?
- how big does the matching accessory have to be? Would a brooch or cufflinks or something be too subtle?

▶ Personality Blurb. Rodney's caustic, offensive, insecure, often casually rude, and always convinced of his own superiority. He's also deeply loyal and completely ridiculous, and some of the absolute worst of his flaws have been sanded off by five seasons of canon and the vulnerability of giving a shit about his friends.
▶ Desired CR. At this point, I mostly just want to push Rodney to have ridiculous adventure-type shenanigans. He's out of his comfort zone and on a 'mission,' so anyone willing to give him shit and get into trouble with him is more than welcome to hit me up. :)
▶ Offered CR. Rodney is nonsense, and he will give you vaguely amusing negative CR. He's built to be teased, because he's very earnest even when he's also terrible. But he's a genius science-y guy with moderately horrendous people skills and everyone should both love him and understand that he has no filter. There is also the off chance of positive CR depending on your character, I guess, if you're into that? :)

▶ Personality Blurb. You is a cheerful, energetic girl from a rural seaside town, who loves the ocean (and really all things aquatic), sports, and costumes/uniforms/clothes. She's often a little impulsive, but is a loyal friend who puts the needs of those important to her in front of her own, sometimes to a fault. She wants to make everyone around her happy, though as of late has been growing self-conscious about her lack of useful skills and inability to help people.
Following her kidnapping and torture, she's been struggling to maintain her idealism and had some unhealthy coping, but realizing the power of her music and that she's not useless-- and having Yoshiko here to help her-- has given her more confidence and she's starting to feel more like herself.
She hates cold weather. A lot.
▶ Desired CR. Given that You is affable and gets along with most people, negative CR is... difficult, so I want her to make all the friends! She's still concerned about being useless, so people who can teach her important skills are going to be very welcomed.
▶ Offered CR. You has little to no combat abilities (other than proficiency in basic judo) and so isn't much of a fighter. She will, however, be insistent on being support-- emotional or otherwise-- as much as possible. If you want a friend or someone to vent to, she's there to help!
Back home, she's an aspiring school idol, so she's proficient at singing and dancing (and entertaining people). She's a skilled athlete, being a national-team-level high diver, and loves working out and weight training. She loves clothes and fashion and can design, sew, and repair clothing. She loves water and the ocean and has learned sailing and navigation from her father, a ferry captain.
She is an excellent cook and loves feeding people. Let her feed you!

My plurk timeline is mostly RP, but this sort of stuff comes up on it pretty frequently as well. Fandom-wise, it's mostly anime and western animation with the occasional surfacing of other stuff.

▶ Permissions. doot, also includes his power permissions for aura reading and Psyqualia, his stupid convoluted psychic power that lets him basically drag people's minds/spirits into imaginationspace to do whatever he likes from letting them pat cool armoured dogs to leaving them in screaming agony without actually injuring their physical body.
▶ Personality Blurb. Described by one of his best friends as "capricious and delicate, as though he might break, but with a strong heart", Ren often comes off as a friendly, careless airhead who isn't really paying attention to anything at any given time and gets distracted at the drop of a hat. While this isn't necessarily false, it's an exaggeration of the nicer side of his personality, the less nice side being prone to manipulation, making people squirm for his amusement, and being worryingly perceptive and accurate about reading people. Despite being pretty shameless in his willingness to manipulate the people around him to varying degrees, Ren's actually a very loyal and protective person once he decides he likes someone, and occasions calling his friends out for engaging in dumb self-sacrificial heroics and the like. Despite the fact that he occasionally engages in dumb self-sacrificial heroics himself and just pretends they're for entirely selfish purposes.
▶ Desired CR. I'm open to a variety of things with Ren, since he's very friendly but also the kind of character who can grate on some people (and will likely intentionally grate on them if he notices he's rubbing them the wrong way...). I definitely want him out there meeting more new people, since he gets around a lot and he has a bit of a knack for identifying who's Good People and bringing them out of their shells, but I also want to strengthen current CR so he has more people he's actually willing to disclose personal things to to...some extent. He can be a bit cagey about that sort of thing.
▶ Offered CR. As mentioned, Ren has a knack for identifying the good-hearted, so I'm always up for him dragging good-hearted grumps out of their shells. He's generally good for dragging people into shenanigans, and makes for a good confidant as long as you don't mind the fact that he's the type to not waste any information he's given. He also has considerable experience with Weird Psychic Shenanigans, so that can be a good base for CR with other characters who have that sort of thing if they can get him to talk about it...
▶ Event Plans. HONESTLY Ren is probably going to love the fact that Frey is the first god that's getting woken up, he's all for ~romantic dance-y ball-y shenanigans so he can tease the everloving shit out of people, probably. But since he's also like he is and really wants to see the Storm burn, he's definitely going to be keeping his eye out for Frey himself and doing his best to get the actual mission done at the same time.

Gabriel has spent two decades running the black ops division of a global peacekeeping organization and as such has about the personality you’d imagine: vaguely cynical, no-nonsense, a little snide. As one might expect, he plays everything very close to the chest, and is always thinking three steps ahead of everyone else. He prides himself on being inscrutable, and cares very little for the fact that it makes him a little frustrating to deal with. He plays the long game and manipulates accordingly. Gabe eventually betrays all his friends and nukes their organization before running off to be a terrorist. That hasn't happened yet, but, uh. He's got it in him. He knows about it now, sort of.
▶ Desired CR. Gabriel gets along best with military-types, mercenaries, and fellow professionals. He’s definitely interested in rubbing elbows with people who are digging into the mystery of the Storm (esp now that it's here) or have information on past happenings. I'm definitely interested in seeking out like-minded individuals who might want to get to the Bottom of This. For all his military skill, he's really not that great at dealing with people and can come off as kind of gruff, so give me all your awkward and negative CR as well!
▶ Offered CR. You want to learn how to fight and shoot things? Gabriel can do that. He’s a genuine super soldier who fought and won the robot war, and has all kinds of crazy military and covert ops knowledge to impart. Definitely looking for team-ups and clashes on missions, etc.

Being the youngest Master Assassin of his time (perhaps ever) probably urges him to act 10 years older than he is. He’s a very good person to have on a team, but he doesn’t trust easily. He's opinionated: What he does closely reflects who he is. He will always prioritize his own Creed of subterfuge-related discretion and never harming innocent bystanders. Contrast this with his profession of thieving and killing. There's a lot to unpack here.
▶ Desired CR. Please! He's very difficult to get out there.
▶ Offered CR. Spycraft lessons. This is a prime time to learn how to blend in. He takes this very seriously and would teach anyone willing to learn. I also tentatively offer him as a surprise roommate, in case the rng plans fall through. He's neat, but he fucking sucks at laundry and cooking. He'll also be at the Valentines blind date event, unwillingly, constantly thinking it may be a trap.

▶ Interests. I mostly meme and rp talk, shitpost every now and then if I find good enough content, and there's a weekly real life plurk where I update friends on things going on. Fandom-wise, I'm... slowly getting the hang of it again, and they mostly go from videogames (Overwatch, Devil May Cry, Rainbow Six, Deus Ex, Stardew Valley, Destiny and other stuff) to podcasts (I'm currently recording one) to other things like series and movies. Manga I love but I don't usually have much time to get into it. Real life activities involve jock stuff like sports (I'm actually a jock irl) and long walks on the beach with my dog. Usually people just friend me for the dog, really.

But he's gruff and a little rough around the edges and very dedicated to "The art of the swoooord" (wasn't kidding about him being a douche). Super analytical, has a permanent-battlefied mentality. Also has a sweet tooth and a stomach the size of a truck.
▶ Desired CR. BRING ME EVERYTHING. From partners to reluctant enemies that tolerate each other for the sake of getting shit done. To the perky shoujo gals who need some self-defense lessons (dude used to be a teacher). I'm up for everything.
▶ Offered CR. WHAT'S SAID ABOVE GOES BOTH WAYS? He's kind of single-minded, will engage with your character with one goal in mind which is to suit his own goal of permanent state of improvement (he considers himself but a weapon, the sad SOB) but he'll also assume a role of tutor/protector if needed to because it's basically what he reluctantly ends up doing.
▶ Event Plans. This is hideous for him, he will hate dressing up. He can't see so he'll be hideous at picking up an outfit (pls help) and WHILE he's good at blending in despite everything (it's his MO) he will hate the social aspect of shmoozing (oh dear) and shit. It's not his scene. (Can he go back to a warzone instead? Pls?)
Also no plans on roomies - he has a terrible sleep schedule though, so if anyone wants to share a room you'll find him sleeping at very random hours.

My plurk is mostly just the occasional meme and a monthly tag plurk easy to mute, the occasional tidbit about life with some cute story/good moment I want to share, sometimes selfies/to do rambles or ramble plurks for whatever I happen to be binging, and doggies! Actual interests are currently Overwatch, Marvel CU/TV, The Expanse, The 100, ASOIAF, Supernatural (yes, still), Metal Gear, Mad Max, Golden Kamuy, Red VS Blue, 80s throwbacks— really anything horror/supernatural/grimdark, post-apocalyptic series, horror games or RPGs, etc. I play Overwatch & Smash Bros & just bought Splatoon 2 for gaming; I'm kind of everywhere. I love working with my hands and getting crafty and decorating! I've worked in retail (mostly housewares/bedding/cosmetics), managed a lingerie boutique, I know how to drive a tow truck and other unwieldy vehicles, I used to work construction/remodeling and have volunteered/worked at both veterinary clinics and veteran's affairs hospitals/clinics and used to volunteer to help homeless veterans with resumes and technology. I'm currently in tax auditing and it's as exciting as it sounds (i.e. -100pts exciting).
▶ Tagging Habits. PST / GMT-8 working overnight shifts on an army base, so my tags usually come late at night through to the morning/noon. I love to boomerang and will backtag to completion on threads! I try to get all my tags answered within a day but sometimes (especially days off when I can be awake during daylight hours for errands/cleaning) there's a delay of a couple days on things. If I get a LOT of threads going at once I might start to lag more, but I will try to wrap older threads so that doesn't happen.

She's patient with the grouches and teases the cranky ones gently and strongarms friendships on those who try to avoid group activities. She'll chill against the wall with you, ok! Give her people to dote on and adopt and fuss over and brilliant minds to pick. She loves fostering potential and seeing people grow so if you ever need an encouraging hand at your back, lawd she comin.

▶ Interests. Mostly memes and RP chatter, but also some fandom chatter about MCU and Broadway musicals (I'm not obsessed with either, nope). There might be some occasional chatter about video games; I'm currently trying to play through Tales of Symphonia currently, but lately I've been distracted by other things so progress is slow on that front. I occasionally have work-related vents (I'm a pharmacy technician), but I keep those to a minimum. You might see posts/pictures about my dog Mabel as well.

▶ Personality Blurb. Sarcastic, arrogant, overly confident, and too smart (and he knows it and won't hesitate to say it). But he can be somewhat nice when the mood hits him; he's not wholly selfish, especially after he's had encounters with Asgardian gods and aliens from other dimensions that knocks him down a peg or two. Mostly he's a guy who likes a good time, but lately hasn't had time to have much fun. Tony's not really the most big-hearted, wide open do-gooder type, but if there's a problem (especially if it's a problem he caused), he'll do anything he can to fix it.
▶ Desired CR. Techy types, people who don't put up with other people's BS (Tony can be a tool sometimes, and it'd be interesting to have some negative CR), or anything, really. Tony might be the type who grows bored quickly but I'm mainly interested in forming connections with him.
▶ Offered CR. Tony's very much a tinkerer/inventor, and he also has some experience with weapons manufacturing, so both of those could be a jumping off point for something!

John Sheppard is fuelled entirely by over-styled hair, 80s and 90s pop culture references, ego and machismo. Yet equally, he is a contradiction. He puts up a front of laziness and disinterest, yet John regularly goes above and beyond what is required him to the point of recklessness in an effort to keep people safe. He cares a lot, is invested in the safety of everyone in Atlantis, feels personally responsible for every mistake and loss. He's smarter than he lets on, keeps emotions boiling under the surface, hurts more than he will ever easily admit and values the lives of his friends far above his own. If you want someone who can do complex math problems, name everyone who played Catwoman and yet also annihilate all of your enemies he is your guy.

- More people for John to argue with or generally complain with. John loves a good complain, loves a good argument, both of these are basic staples of a good friendship.
- More friends to hang out with! John tends to be easy going but he can come across awkward and defensive sometimes (often). If your character can tolerate his stubbornness and deflection please do come hang out with him! He's lost some CR and needs to restock
- Modern or futurey people! Help this being in the past thing sucks and John is not great at pretending to be old fashioned.
- Military folk! John is a soldiery sort, he likes fellow soldiers. Although he also hates following orders he doesn't agree with? So this is an opportunity for positive OR negative CR, depending on the character!
- Grumpy people! John loves to ignore how grumpy you are and carry on regardless, which you can either interpret as tolerance or a tendency to be irritating. Again, good or... bad?
- Nosy people! we're meant to be investigating things here, apparently! Someone come scooby gang with him, while also low key gossiping about completely unrelated things. THOSE SHOES?
- In general, close CR! John needs people who will come find him and talk him down when he decides to handle a problem by locking it away and pretending it doesn't exist. Please volunteer as tribute to suffer his stubborness and catty behaviour, he is worth it I promise.

▶ Interests. I talk about all sorts of things! Most of the time when it's not about RP you will hear about my life running a coffee shop. (I am living the coffee shop AU, yes I am.) Otherwise, it will be me spamming info on whatever I'm reading/watching/playing these days. At the moment I'm super into the Devilman series and am watching the original 1970's anime, I just finished playing the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and am currently trying to perfect it, and I am also reading 'The Love & Lies of Rukhsana Ali' which is a great new YA novel about LGBT lifestyles for southasian teens. I also swim, bike, do Kung Fu, and play the cello on occasion. And, of course, you will se lots of spam about my current muses and their canons~

▶ Personality Blurb. Sanzo is a grouchy, angry, short-tempered monk. Despite that, he is oftentimes calm and calculated and more often prefers to keep to himself. He despises opening up to people, usually seeing it as a sign of weakness, and uses his uncomfortable high kill count as a way to threaten off anyone who tries to get too close. Despite that, he is not considered much of a villain in his own series. He is surprisingly a man with a high sense of moral and only harms those who he considers a threat to himself, others, or just happens to be excessively annoying to the point that it's a sin. And despite being the type to never admit that he has friends, he secretly is fairly protective of those he does hold close. A perfect tsundere.
▶ Desired CR. I'm looking for negative and positive CR alike! Sanzo is very prone to forming negative CR with most people initially due to his aggressive and violent disposition. But those who do manage to get past that prickly outer shell of his have an ally for life. That also means he is willing to get all out violent with your characters if that's the sort of thing you want. Of course, one thing I desperately want is to have more people he can emotionally open up to more. Found-family is a huge plus for me. Also, I am a filthy shipper who desperately clings to the thought that perhaps someday I could get him emotionally and physically comfortable with someone, despite the fact that that hasn't happened yet in the two years I've played him. One can have dreams as we approach endgame, no?
▶ Offered CR. Have you ever been curious to how your character would react to have a gun shoved in their face? Well, Sanzo here will be happy to help you live out that RP experience. As of so far, he has shot five other people in this game, so I suppose he's helping develop a small "I got shot by a Buddhist monk" club here in El Nysa. He's also capable of offering two very different types of CR. He's the unlucky type who will often launch himself and all those he's associated with into fairly chaotic situations. On the other hand, that habit of his is completely unintentional and he would much rather sit around with a warm cup of coffee or tea, the daily newspaper, and discuss politics and philosophy. He's also a natural leader type despite his lone-wolf disposition, and will often easily take charge of situations. It helps that he has plenty of on-hand survival and martial experience.
In terms of powers, he is a completely normal human for the most part. (Just ignore the complicated past-life stuff.) Because of that most of his abilities are mostly gained due to lots of hard work and living through tough situations. He's a master survivalist, having lived on his own in the wilderness since he was a preteen. He's also an expert sharpshooter which has only been exemplified since he was given a magical glove by the orbiters which have increased his aim and target range to an exponential degree. He also has a ring offered to him by the leaders of Wyver which gives him a one-hit temporary invincibility which also covers his skin in scales where he was hit. He also carries two revolvers and a sword, is a master in martial arts due to his upbringing in a Buddhist monastery, and has the ability to sense the spiritual pe=resence of others to the point where he can read the difference between human energy and otherwise as well as weather that energy is malicious or not.
▶ Event Plans. Sanzo is absolutely uninterested in this gala. None the less, he is very invested in finding the four gods. The whole couple thing though... He probably is going to have to find someone who is willing to buck up and allow him to drag them along as a pretend couple.
Speaking of pretending couples! I have absolutely signed him up for You's dating event! His reasoning? Well, it offers free food and booze of course.
He's also not very good when it comes to blending in. It's going to be surreal for him to not wear something that isn't his own monks' robes or the robes of the Altar of Volkkra. It also doesn't help that he isn't really the biggest fan of Olympia and yet seems to be forced to adjust to living there once more. He will be rooming with his permanent
