January Outline & CR Meme

Welcome to the January edition of our monthly outlines. Just as last month, we are keeping up with the present trend of including the CR meme alongside it. Naturally, this is open to all players.
As always, outlines give players a general idea of what will be coming up in the month, and you're free to interpret it however you like. For this month, there will be a gamewide plot that will affect the setting from January 11th and on, until the end of the month. Please keep this in mind as you plot! The schedule is currently up-to-date, so please be sure to keep an eye on that as well. Please read on for final ooc notes in regards to this upcoming event! JANUARY OUTLINE  The Storm is Coming — The cataclysmic visions you saw in your dreams before waking on Thesa have returned. Except, this time, they have overtaken the sky above. In mere hours, Nysa is covered in an endless night. Illuminated only by terrible collisions of stars, exploding like celestial fireworks, the entire planet quakes - seismic activity growing steadily - under the looming threat. Thesa, in its centuries old grandeur, is shrouded by this calamity. Compared to the destruction of the surrounding galaxy, the space station's slow descent isn't immediately obvious. But those who keep a close eye on the station's systems will notice that there isn't much time before a collision. As the Isles of Nysa were Thesa's protectorate, they have now become its trajectory. The Mighty Jungle Collapses —  In Wyver, a more imminent threat has materialized. Monsters cobbled together from the worlds consumed by the storm - yours included - have begun to materialize throughout the jungle haven. An indiscriminate patchwork of creature and technology, these abominations are feral things, untamable and purely unique. Some may even possess human qualities among their twisted physique, possibly familiar... There is no time to study the nature of these beasts. A call to arms rings out in Wyver, imploring anyone willing and able to keep the threat at bay. Perhaps more alarming is the manifestation of people, suspended in time. Corporeal and ranging in responsiveness to fully aware and completely isolated, these individuals are exactly identical to those refugees had lost to the storm, or watched over in the pods. However, they are stuck in a loop, minutes of their time on replay endlessly. There is no way to banish them, they'll simply fade on their own, eventually. Stay in the storm's violent reach for too long, and you may become no different than the creatures it hosts. Fighters grow entangled, limbs fused to limbs, weapons, or any other element of the surroundings. The effects will wear off after some time spent away from the fighting's epicenter, though maneuvering out of the chaos won't be easy. A Muted Empire —  Olympia is not spared by The Storm's effects. The fog that once occupied the farther shores of the Outpost has moved in and blanketed the city with an eerie stillness. You will feel the heaviness upon your shoulders as it mutes and muffles the panicked sounds of the city's civilians. You will not be able to see even a foot ahead of you, and yet you'll occasionally witness the strikes of lightning above you — it illuminates the shining Moon, Thesa, that is ever-approaching. Naturally, the city is searching for answers. The esteemed scientists and researchers are observing the phenomenon, knowing far too well that this is the calamity that is long prophesied by their forefathers. First, it was the rise of the Great Dragon — and following it, the Storm. The Darkest Timeline —  Who would they have to stop to make this seemingly impossible feat reality? Roles and role sign-ups will be available tomorrow, along with an accompanying IC post. This will kick-start a several-month plot that centers around timehopping and how decisions of the past will affect the future. ▶ Preferred Contact.
▶ Friending Policy. As long as I can see who you play on your profile, go ahead, otherwise PP/PM in advance so I know who I'm adding.
▶ Interests. Writing, drawing, tabletop gaming, fancy clothes, cooking videos, shitposting about weird food I found at the supermarket. My plurk timeline is mostly RP, but this sort of stuff comes up on it pretty frequently as well. Fandom-wise, it's mostly anime and western animation with the occasional surfacing of other stuff.
▶ Tagging Habits. Currently I'm in Australian Eastern Daylight Time (UTC +11), and I'm prone to tagging in the late evening, which is wee small morning hours for a lot of other time zones. I'll generally tag once a day, but I'm willing to boomerang for time-sensitive stuff if needed.

▶ Character Age. 23
▶ Photo Reference. this but usually with black pants. Since it's kind of hard to see in smaller arts, I also like to note for anyone who looks closely at his face that his pupils are slit like a cat's, not round.
▶ Permissions. doot, this also includes his power permissions for aura reading and Psyqualia, his stupid convoluted psychic power that lets him basically drag people's minds/spirits into imaginationspace to do whatever he likes from letting them pat cool armoured dogs to leaving them in screaming agony without actually injuring their physical body.
▶ Personality Blurb. Described by one of his best friends as "capricious and delicate, as though he might break, but with a strong heart", Ren often comes off as a friendly, careless airhead who isn't really paying attention to anything at any given time and gets distracted at the drop of a hat. While this isn't necessarily false, it's an exaggeration of the nicer side of his personality, the less nice side being prone to manipulation, making people squirm for his amusement, and being worryingly perceptive and accurate about reading people. Despite being pretty shameless in his willingness to manipulate the people around him to varying degrees, Ren's actually a very loyal and protective person once he decides he likes someone, and occasions calling his friends out for engaging in dumb self-sacrificial heroics and the like. Of course, when he does the same thing it's entirely for his own personal enjoyment and he's totally willing to let the world collapse around him as long as he can get an entertaining challenge out of it, because clearly he's not the type for heroics. Those are cliched and he's having none of it, even if he also happens to be having none of the various equally cliched (in his opinion) villains who keep trying to destroy his world, because as far as he's concerned nobody's as good at the villain thing as he used to be.
▶ Desired CR. I'm open to a variety of things with Ren, since he's very friendly but also the kind of character who can grate on some people (and will likely intentionally grate on them if he notices he's rubbing them the wrong way...). I definitely want him out there meeting more new people, since he gets around a lot and he has a bit of a knack for identifying who's Good People and bringing them out of their shells, but I also want to strengthen current CR so he has more people he's actually willing to disclose personal things to to...some extent. He can be a bit cagey about that sort of thing.
▶ Offered CR. As mentioned, Ren has a knack for identifying the good-hearted, so I'm always up for him dragging good-hearted grumps out of their shells. He's generally good for dragging people into shenanigans, and makes for a good confidant as long as you don't mind the fact that he's the type to not waste any information he's given. He also has considerable experience with Weird Psychic Shenanigans, so that can be a good base for CR with other characters who have that sort of thing if they can get him to talk about it...
▶ Rooming Plans. Ren's currently living in a tiny apartment in Wyver proper with...his cat mostly. But he may or may not have suggested Aichi come and stay with him
so he doesn't start hoarding cats or something.▶ Game Plans. Ren's generally not too much the type to side heavily with a particular place, which I've been trying to reflect by geting all kinds of REP with him, but I do ultimately want him to end up with enough Wyver REP for their rewards. He's been very slowly trying not to fixate on his previous friends and focus on adapting/settling more into El Nysa as a home in the long term, though it'll probably help his general loneliness about his friends from home not being around to have another one awake now.
▶ Event Plans. SHIT'S GETTING REAL and I'm definitely going to throw Ren into an event role if I can, because this all sounds very interesting and also lbr he wants to Fight the storm for messing up his two favourite worlds and now this one. Since he lives in Wyver, I might dabble a little in the body horror part of the event there, and/or just give him a Bad Time with weird shadows/mutated versions of things he's familiar with from either Earth or Cray.

Mikumo Guynemer | Macross Delta
▶ Character Age. Since she's a clone/artificial human, she's only been around 3 years, but is equivalent to about a 20 year old.

▶ Personality Blurb. Labelled the "Mysterious Venus" by her fans, Mikumo is a talented performer and outstanding singer who works with the "tactical sound unit" Walkure, a group who sings to combat the spread of Var Syndrome, a bacterial infection which causes uncontrollable violence when not latent. Despite her appearance, she also happens to be a highly skilled stealth operative and combatant when necessary, working with Wakure's backup squadron Delta Flight to infiltrate and investigate occupied planets. She happens to be so skilled at all this business because she's actually an artificial human based on the genetic template of an ancient and obscenely powerful priestess called the Star Singer, specifically engineered to lead Walkure and introduce that priestess' power back into the modern age where it can be studied, which she didn't actually learn herself until well into the series. Now that she has and she's come to terms to a certain degree with being engineered for a specific purpose, she's realised that holding only to her purpose is to her detriment in the end and is trying to broaden her experiences so she has more to put into her music. She still tends to be very purposeful, though, and can be a bit harsh on those who aren't similarly focused and driven.
▶ Desired CR. I definitely want to try and find people who'll encourage Mikumo to experience more things even when she's hesitant about it, because she doesn't have Walkure to do that for her now. Also other people who've done a lot of war/battlefield stuff or stealthing or generally had experience with having to deal with the heavy stuff that comes with conflict. Also people she can eventually make friends with since she's still kind of getting used to that whole area of things.
▶ Offered CR. Mikumo is pretty serious and professional about what she chooses to do, so people who need a sometimes harsh guiding hand might benefit from that. As I mentioned earlier, she's got a lot of experience with war/battlefield stuff and thus would be able to relate to people who deal with that sort of thing frequently. She's also an idol singer, so...singing shenanigans with people? Though she can get a bit overly serious about that, too, if it's professional singers involved.
▶ Rooming Plans. I'm thinking Mikumo will probably go for Olympia starter housing, so since that's pretty open-plan I'm happy to plan out roommate shenaniganry with those who might also be in the area.
▶ Game Plans. Since Mikumo's coming from a canonpoint that's sort of the crux of her development from figuring out she's an artificial human who was made for a specific purpose to starting to think more about her own wants, I really want to get her into a variety of new things while she's in the game so she can further develop from that and figure out more things that she likes outside the line of duty. REP-wise I'm leaning towards focusing her on Olympia, especially since I'm already angling for Wyver with Ren.
▶ Event Plans. Mikumo has almost no idea what's going on but given how driven she is, she's likely to want to involve herself in saving this world as much as possible despite the fact that she only just woke up. Since I was planning to have her settle in Olympia, she'll probably be most involved with things there and possibly in Nadril.
