Imagine being the adopted kid of a family that hates you and you're constantly being beaten up/shit on because you're not one of them. Imagine having only one person in your life that's been kind to you and then they're taken away from you. Slaine is unfortunately that kid in the shitty family, only you need to extrapolate a bit: he's a lowly Earthling servant of Martian nobility and his whole world is centered around a Martian princess who saved his life and in turn, he is frighteningly loyal to.
Sadly his loyalty doesn't ever do him any good. He's the son of a researcher so he's got brains between his ears. He's also a decent aircraft/spaceship pilot and can pilot a mobile suit well enough. He doesn't have the best sense of self due to his shitty life but he'll put on a polite face by default. He's not calm or cold by any means however - he's pretty emotional, especially when he finds himself triggered. Let's just say unstable is putting it nicely.
Slaine's been doing a bit better recently thanks to having Princess Asseylum back in his life, although he's pretty salty that every time he tries to have a normal, domestic life it seems to go up in flames. Currently because his little home got wrecked he's living at Atsushi's crib with his hime and trying to get settled back into things and pick his job back up at the orphanage.

God fucking save this sad, poor teen. While he's doing better than he was when he first arrived, Slaine still has major confidence issues and needs more friends to help him realize he's worth something. He has less than zero self worth due to the awful abuse he suffered, judging his worth as a person solely on how useful he can be to his waifu, a Martian princess. While Slaine will never get over Asseylum, I'd love for him to end up gaining a bit more confidence in himself and become attached to more people. That said, now that Slaine's got his princess, he'll probably need people to tell him to chill the fuck out and rein in being obsessive/anxious over her well-being.
I'd also love CR between other mechas/characters familiar with space, because that's always good shit. I'd also love for Slaine to get to teach people things which would probably help boost his confidence a bit, since he feels pretty stupid right now.
I'm also totally open to negative CR as well. If you want to bully Slaine into friendship, make a man out of him, or push him around he can take it. He also might point his gun at you if he's pushed too far or you threaten Princess Asseylum but hey :') it's all good right?

If it isn't apparent already, Slaine has a weakness for princesses and cute girls in general. Do you need an errand boy bc he's your man...I want him to befriend every hime. He needs a collection.
Slaine is dutiful, polite, wary, nervous and quite smart. He's an aircraft/mecha pilot and thanks to his dad being a researcher, he knows a decent amount about mechanics. He also was in a tutor position to the Martian princess in his canon and so he actually...really likes being a teacher? He knows a lot about space, the history of manned space flight (Apollo missions) and the natural world in general. He also has a strong fondness for birds and flowers, going so much as to know about Victorian flower language.
Granted it'll be a bit hard to get him to open up...since he's default anxious and paranoid. Not as much as earlier but...still.
He's also the kind of guy to feel obligated to return a favour, especially if you are nice to him, be it clean or cook for you. Or whatever else. The shitty servant life has trained him well.
