Rodney is a somewhat abrasive and acerbic individual who, in the past, was very much an asshole. Character development over the course of the series has softened him, but he's still very blunt, certainly careless of other people's emotions. He's prone to considering his view of the world as correct and anyone who doesn't share it an idiot and there's a high chance he'll be casually rude without realizing it. So. A bit rough sometimes. But! He's very smart and very loyal and he's never trying to be rude or mean, he just has no filter and is maybe driven a bit by insecurity is all. ▶ Desired CR. I would love, honestly, any kind of CR that will push Rodney out of his comfort zone even further than his canon does. He's used to having his tech and being The Best At Tech, so any CR that doesn't cater to that would be absolutely lovely. But I would also love to take Rodney on the epic journey of trying to figure out the Natha tech, since that would be his immediate interest. ▶ Offered CR. Rodney's...the kind of character that might end up with negative CR...on your side. His attitude towards your character (unless your character screws something up) will be neutral (and often positive!) and there will be no way to tell because he's universally rude. Threads where he and another person are doing some sort of Task or accomplishing some sort of Goal rather than just chit-chatting are best to get Rodney talking. But! I can offer tech assistance, and the kind of unique conversations that come when the person has no compunctions about speaking exactly what they think to your face, and a straight man for your comedian because he's fairly literal. ▶ Rooming Plans. So! I'm not entirely sure how housing is going to go down in the long term, but starter housing for the first month is definitely going to be the thing. He might need a roomie? He's...high maintenance, but hmu if anyone does! ▶ Game Plans. Big picture, I want Rodney to basically tear into the research/exploration aspects of the game and dig around to figure out what's going on as much as he can--and about whatever technology he can get his hands on. Beyond that, he's going to be tagging after John Sheppard and playing it by ear. Maybe I'll turn him into a wizard? (It's just another type of technology, right?) I'm fairly sure he doesn't want to choose sides though, and might honestly be content to live at Thesa station and stay out of everything if anyone would let him. ▶ Event Plans. Ghosties!
