❪ month outline + plotting ❫ DECEMBER 2017

Hello there, El Nysa!

First of all, we would like to extend a formal welcome to our new players. Once again, we are impressed by everyone’s interest and passion. We would like to remind everyone to follow the game plurk at [plurk.com profile] elnysa to stay informed. The game plurk tends to focus on smaller but vital details/updates, and you may miss out on information if you only follow the Dreamwidth communities.

That said, the holidays are always a busy time for everyone, so we want to make plotting for the month of December as easy as possible. This post will outline the overall mood and events happening in December for both Wyver and Olympia in order to help players plan accordingly. Please use this post for plotting as you see fit!
ATMOSPHERE THROUGHOUT THE MONTH
W y v e r
  • WEEK ONE. As they were not as affected as Olympia in terms of lost resources, they’re still carrying on relatively strong. They believe that their triumph over the disease is a testament of their own strength and fortitude. While the mood is not necessarily heavy, there is obvious tension and some remaining dissatisfaction, especially in regards to having extended help to Olympia. Say the wrong thing in a tavern and you may end up with a knife to your throat.

  • WEEK TWO. Most of the people from Wyver that have ventured to Olympia in hopes of assisting with clean-up have slowly begun to make their way home. In response to their homecoming, there will be many more casual get-togethers and acts of merriment. The town is excited for their own brand of celebration. Wyver celebrations means that there will be more visible public fights than usual, but this isn’t cause to be alarmed. The people love it, and this is their way of letting off steam.

  • WEEK THREE. As the weather becomes cooler, the Wyver people have begun making preparations to combat the winter. Among that, the people of Wyver have begun preparing all sorts of seasonal foods that fit with this chillier weather (hot pot, soups, spicier meals). There is far less civil unrest among the masses. Rumors of curses and strange hostile slander against Olympians will fade. The people's attention will be more focused on themselves and what happens within their own territory.

  • WEEK ONE. As the month begins, Olympia is still in the middle of trying to reduce the food crisis and other damages in the city from the recent attack. Food is rationed but not as sparse as it was in late October; the people are tired, but optimistic. Because the refugees vacated their starter homes, very few efforts to clean up that area of the residential district have been made; some of them have been vandalized.

  • WEEK TWO. Cleanup is still slow going; much of it has been left to civilians to handle independently, at this stage. The people working in the Temples of Thesa have started to come out and offer additional charity and work help to those most in need; Overseer Voss entreats the refugees (via written missive) to dedicate themselves to Olympia.

  • WEEK THREE. The week of celebration! Holiday observances are scheduled citywide for the rest of the month, and the people have a pervasive attitude of not letting the recent attack take anything else from them, including their holidays. Mood is high; living conditions are almost back to normal; the Temples themselves are hosting several celebrations. The biggest celebration, a joint festivity with Wyver, will be hosted in the South Outpost.
WYVER FLORA/FAUNA SUBMISSIONS
We loved seeing everyone’s ideas and enthusiasm last time and so once again, we are opening up our flora and fauna submissions for the month of December, but this time for Wyver. You will be rewarded TWO (2) WYVER REP points for doing so. Please fill the following form by December 31st to qualify! We look forward to seeing all the neat flora and fauna submissions that everyone submits!

And now, a word from the quest's sponsor:
Hello, lovelies. I know not all of you are from around here, but the least you can do is make yourself useful for your new home, yeah? I'm Thali, the Royal Beastmaster, and that means that all those beautiful creatures you see flying around our majestic city answer to me. With some helping hands, I protect them, feed them, make sure they're treated like the gods they are. In return, they give us vitality and the ultimate protection.

But that's not why I'm here right now. I know those Olympians have some kind of database where they keep records of the plants and animals in their territory. We can't fall behind now.

So, be darlings, won't you? Do me a favor and bring me any info you have about a local plant or animal. Even if it's one I've seen before. We're going to try and get a little more organized around here.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE
With the plot from November all wrapped up, there are now a variety of job opportunities and quests available in Wyver. While one is not technically required to commit and is free to defect to either side, this is a reminder that there will be IC consequences. The hostility between Olympia and Wyver is soon to revert itself back to what it was previous to their present agreement, and characters will need to be apply some level of commitment to what territory they decide to stay in. But, for now...

The business information for Wyver can be accessed here, and the NPC contact page here. Jobs are also available for residents of Olympia as well.

WINTER CELEBRATIONS
Near the end of week two, celebrations will begin to spark all throughout Wyver and Olympia. While the beginning of the month will still be spent picking up the pieces from the previous attack, from the end of the second week onwards, there will be clear attempts at uplifting everyone’s spirits through celebrations and feasts.

Additionally, while the natives of Olympia have no actual inkling to the origins of this strange tradition, PCs will discover sprigs of a certain plant adorning the inner city walls, as well as the Temples. They believe this to be a form of worship and expressing gratitude to Thesa who have allowed them to overcome a crisis. This plant also grows throughout the entire region of Wyver, with less order and predictability.

At the end of the month, both factions will agree to finance a luxurious holiday Gala at the South Outpost. They will start putting up decorations well into week two. It will be of large-scale and everyone who has assisted in the efforts of the past months will be encouraged to attend. Many stores will be opening up to cater to these needs, and the marketplace and streets will be busier than ever during the time preceding this celebration.

OOC Note: There will be a mod-posted log on the 19th for the South Outpost Gala with more details. This celebration is open for all who wish to attend.

A CALL TO ACTION FROM THE TEMPLES OF THESA
In Olympia, recovery efforts are still being made to fully restore the city after the recent terrorist attacks. Much progress has been made by the citizens, but those refugees who have recently returned will find that the city has been livable rather than thriving. Olympia has yet to be restored to its full former glamor, at least in the less wealthy districts where the refugees live.

As a result of the city's improvement being slow-going, the Temples of Thesa have begun entreating the refugees specifically to show compassion for the first city that welcomed them with Thesa's blessing. Overseer Voss of the Temples does not appear in person, but his requests are diligently brought to the refugees by his Temple acolytes. While these requests (and they are written down) ask for charitable service and implore refugees not to settle in Wyver, there is an overwhelming sense of favor towards the refugees in them, over even the Olympian natives. Several acolytes have even traveled to Wyver to pass out these missives, knowing there are many refugees still there.

The Temples of Thesa themselves are open to anyone during this time that should be full of holiday cheer; there is food, music, dancing—and of course, the Temples can always spare space for more creative worship to support the "make love, not war" edict of their Goddess.

FINAL OOC NOTE
